Intermediate Worship Guitar

AdvancedFor those people who have completed the Improvers worship guitar course, are starting to take the guitar more seriously, and fancy progressing further. The Intermediate worship guitar course consolidates musical material that was introduced on the Improvers worship guitar course.

The Intermediate worship guitar course begins by revising all of the harmonic (chord) information studied on the previous guitar courses; 7th chords; Added note chords; slash chords and examines the layout of the fretboard. The course also examines some more diverse chord structures: diminished chords and power chords.

With the right hand more complex and funky rhythms are explored along with some finger picking patterns. There is also an introduction to single-note, melodic lead playing.

Some further 20 more complex songs are added to the repertoire. These include worship songs by Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Dave Bilbrough, Chris Tomlin, Bethel Music, Hillsong.

Intermediate worship guitar course: objective

By the end of the 10 sessions intermediate course guitarists should be able to lead worship in a church setting and make a significant contribution to the music life of their church.
